Euthanasia is the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or if in an irreversible coma. It is illegal in most countries. I think that no one has the right to do this to someone or something without his or her consent. I am both condemning and defending the term because I believe that it is hard to watch someone you love and care about being tortured by some inevitable pain. My aunt died a month ago and she committed suicide. She was very depressed and drank a lot and she destroyed her gut and was emitted to the E.R. She was getting better but she was in so much pain that she knew she wouldn’t be able to get out of it. She also knew her family wouldn’t pull the plug on her yet, so she pulled it herself. She chose to kill herself because she couldn’t handle watching her family suffers from her pain. Her pain was too unbearable. In that case, I think that this term is okay. But I believe that if a doctor wants to practice this, he needs to ask for the family or the patient’s consensus. The family knows better than he or she whether they need more time, and they wouldn’t want someone they love to be put through the pain.
