WOmen's objectification
People think that men have begun to treat women as people, not as objects and in some cases that is true. I still see men think with their brain full of stereotypes about women. Women cannot play sports, women should only work in the house, they can’t possibly be smarter than men etc…. I think that men still think of women as objects, because of all these media influences. Media portrays men Sometimes it is not the men’s fault, but mostly they can take the wrap for their actions. Men are constantly, whistling at women and making sexist remarks, trying to act all macho. Women have come a long way since we gained our right to vote and we are just as strong as men, and men need to realize that. First off, the magazine covers and song lyrics are having a huge impact on the way women are viewed. Song lyrics, especially rap, are usually about how much “booty they can get” and it makes us, women, seem like we are pieces of meat. When men see women, they think of how we look, they don’t care if we are smart, or about our personality. All they want to know is if they can get “some”. Most of the objectification of women is used sexually, but not always. Although it is quite difficult to brainstorm ideas on how women are objectified non-sexually. Over the years, women have come a long way and I will say that objectification towards women has decreased over the years. So maybe there is hope for women to be treated equally as men.
